IL Nu is on an excellent up-rise. This year taking home many awards such as Chapter of the year, Lead By Example Award, Greek Week champions and many individual awards won by fellow brothers.
A ceremony near the end of the school year is held to acknowledge the chapters who stood tall above the rest. The awards given during the ceremony are to recognize the chapters’ hard work and dedication to themselves and the community. These chapters are awarded for their work throughout the entire school year in various areas such as community service and inter-organizational relations.
SigEp took home Chapter of the Year and the Lead By Example Award at this year’s awards ceremony. Not only did the fraternity win as a chapter but also had many individual awards won by many brothers. This includes Alex Pearson winning Spring New Member and Unsung Hero, Ethan Zawodniak winning Fall New Member, and Evan Oakley winning FSL Member of the year. These awards hold great value in the Greek community because it shows who holds there values the strongest and recognizes everyone for their hard work.
As the end of the school year is right around the corner, many students get busy with preparing for finals, spending time outside, but also getting ready to participate in Greek Week. At EIU, Greek Week is a major occasion. This event includes fraternities and sororities getting paired with one another to compete in various competition. This year SigEp was fortunate enough to be paired up with the women of Delta Zeta.
As a pairing everyone put in countless hours and hard work to become victorious in this year’s Greek Week Competition. The men of Sigma Phi Epsilon won the Tugs competition making them back-to-back champions. Putting in lots of hard work practicing, to become champions once again. Alex Pearson and Jasmine Alia put in lots of work to win First Place for the Order of Omega Case Study Competition. And Evan Oakley and Olivia Lattuca being nominated as our Greek Week Royalty Candidates.
With the school year coming to an end, it is safe to say that SigEp has had one great year and many more to come.
